Waltzes and Leitmotifs
“Quality film music never grows old" a wise man once said. Case in point, Boris Fogelman's waltzes for piano and string ensemble are timeless masterpieces that - just like the big screen- convey a range of emotions to the audience. From solemn to playful, from melancholy to lighthearted, they share their thorough compositional craftsmanship and thoughtful instrumentation. Fogelman's 15 pieces are proof of the versatility the classical musical form of the waltz actually possesses. Minimalistic or comical or very contemporary: waltzes can be much more than their reputation may suggest. Recorded with musicians of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
